Founders, Mike and Melissa Mikkelson, started Liberty with a keen focus on long-term relationships and challenging the status-quo. After moving to Orlando, Florida, they built their first Self-Storage facility in 1988 near International Drive, in Orlando, FL. Mike and Melissa proved their ability to perform, despite the challenging economic climate, and the facility leased up in just under a year. As a result of consistent application of their philosophy and principals Liberty has invested in over 80 properties stretching across the US in asset classes including self-storage, hospitality, office and multi-family with total capital investments nearing $700 million. The landscape of real estate investing is dynamic and Liberty is committed to continuing to discover new opportunities through its original focus on long-term relationships and challenging the status-quo.

ADAM MIKKELSON
Since joining Liberty in 2005, Adam has played roles in acquisition, development and the operation of both our hospitality and self-storage investments. Adam provides executive oversight to key aspects of our business.
WM. MICHAEL MIKKELSON
Mike founded Liberty in 1990 to meet a market need for self-storage in Florida. Since then he has led Liberty to develop or acquire more than seventy (70) assets, in multiple asset classes, throughout the United States. Mike’s focus is towards vision casting and senior executive oversight.
MARK POOLE
Mark joined Liberty in 2012, bringing a fresh perspective to our self-storage operating company. His previous sales and management experience has brought energy to daily operations and driven steady top line growth.
JENNIFER BOLLHOFER
Joining Liberty in 2012, Jennifer is focused on the daily oversight and maintenance of all assets under management. Jen brings focus and problem solving capability that is crucial to the operation of our business.
MELISSA RIVARD
Melissa joined Liberty in 2005 to serve as executive assistant to Mike Mikkelson. She wears many hats including office management, human resources administration and administrative assistance to the team.
Jacob Farmer
Jacob joined Liberty in 2019 with experience in banking and private real estate development. His focus is on overall investment pipeline and capital structure for Liberty’s investment portfolio.
Nicci Dillon
Since joining Liberty as an Assistant Storage Manager in 2009, Nicci has grown in many roles and now leads the entire My Neighborhood Storage Center brand as Regional Manager. Her effective communication and attention to detail brings incredible value to our storage operations.
RICK WILSON
Rick is a consultant on Liberty’s project development in the Southeastern U.S. and has over 20 years’ experience in construction & project management, development, & sales in the commercial office, light industrial, & hospitality sectors as a certified general contractor in the State of Florida.
